Matrix style flipbook animation

The first flipbook was invented in 1868. It is the first form of linear animation as all other predating animations worked via images being placed on circular objects to be spun around. Flipbooks now tend to be aimed more at young children as toys but as you can see from this film there only limits are your imagination and technical ability
